yes, i've been to San Francisco. but we had an 11 year old boy in tow, who was NOT AT ALL INTERESTED in what i felt was a holy site: City Lights Books. i didn't get to spend nearly enough time there, but i was there long enough to realize that, yeah, it's a cool bookstore, but man... THE HISTORY. i was walking on the same floor where some very interesting/unstable/creative/wild people had walked on at one time or another.
the photo i'm posting is not actually my favorite spot in my hometown, but probably one of the more odd/significant things i've seen. i was on my way home from my hometown of Mt.Vernon, Ohio, to Columbus when i felt the need to use the facilities at a gas station outside of Marengo. there i found a bathroom adorned with fishing nets, a life preserver and a sign that read "SEASIDE TREASURE". in the middle of Ohio. in a men's room. IN THE MIDDLE OF OHIO.
